Circum KFO Interdental Brush – Supports dental care with braces

Scientifically proven: Optimal cleaning with the Circum KFO interdental brush
Thorough oral hygiene is particularly important when wearing fixed braces, as plaque and food particles can easily stick to brackets and wires. Scientific studies prove the effectiveness of the Circum KFO interdental brush in cleaning hard-to-reach spaces between teeth. The research results show that it not only effectively removes plaque, but also reduces the risk of gingivitis and tooth decay. Here you will find an overview of the most important studies that scientifically support the benefits of the Circum KFO interdental brush.

Orthodontic study under the direction of Prof. Dr. Christina Erbe

Circum® CDB-7 KFO and CDB-8 KFO interdental brushes

The tapered interdental brushes CDB-KFO-7 and CDB-KFO-8 were developed to efficiently clean brackets, bands and adjacent teeth during fixed orthodontic treatment.

A study led by Prof. Dr. Christina Erbe, Lisa Zanders-Grote, Yvonne Wagner, Irene Schmidtmann, Niklaus P. Lang and Heinrich Wehrbein at the universities in Mainz (Germany) and St. Gallen, Bern and Zurich (Switzerland) has shown that the CDB-KFO-7 and CDB-KFO-8 have proven to be extremely effective in practice and are significantly superior to the cylindrical interdental brush shape. The study was carried out by leading scientists in this field.

Top Caredent has developed various lengths and sizes of the tapered orthodontic brushes in collaboration with these scientists. The study in question focuses on the CDB-KFO-7 and CDB-KFO-8. These brushes are produced in the Black Forest, Germany, while development takes place in Switzerland.

Plaque on Brackets: Problems and Solutions

The study by Prof. Dr. Patrick R. Schmidlin highlights the challenges of plaque formation with fixed braces and shows effective solutions for improving oral hygiene. The role of interdental brushes and specially developed aids for orthodontic care is particularly highlighted. The results underline that targeted cleaning with suitable interdental brushes significantly reduces the risk of inflammation and caries.
